simple rag time burp rags

So I have been making Some ragtime burp rags, this is what I did!!!

I made my own pattern using a burp rag, I just traced it and then added 1/2 inch to out side to allow for fringe.

Pick out 2 flannel fabrics that kind of match.
Put the 2 back sides of the fabric together.

Pin the opposite sides together so fabric doesn't move.
Pin pattern to fabric you just pinned together.

Cut around pattern

After fabric is all cut it should look like this. Then unpin the pattern and put pins around the outer edge of fabric.

Sew 1/2 and inch in for the seam.

Cut edges, but don't cut stitching!

Cut edges all the way around.

Wash and dry burp rag and it frizzes up the edges!

Kylie at Parkinson reunion

So I have been meaning to post this video since this summer, sorry everyone for the delay.

Pretty much we are bribing my cute cousin Kylie to get completely wet in the cold Henry's Fork .

My favorite part is when my mom said "We are adults we wouldn't tell you to do something you shouldn't do" lol

Valentines

I made dipped chocolate pretzels (for Terrance because he loves them) while he was at school Friday and I was at home for my day off.

How to make chocolate dipped pretzels:

Step 1- Smash up some different candies that you would like to sprinkle on top. I chose some old Christmas candy I had found.

Step 2: Then melt some chocolate in a double boiler. Mine is obviously home made I put a glass bowl in my medium pot with water in between. the double boiler prevents your chocolate from burning, especially for people like me who get distracted and for get to stir for a bit too long.

Step 3: Cover any thing you want with the melted chocolate, this time for me I chose pretzel sticks.

Step 4: Sprinkle crushed candies on top of melted chocolate.

Step 5: Place them on plastic or wax paper so they are easily removed when chocolate is hardened.
Add ImageStep 6: Place in freezer for 20 min or until chocolate is hard then take out and enjoy.

Our Valentines

For our 2nd valentines day together I made Terrance a heart shaped pizza with an arrow going through (sorry there is no pic. we were hungry) along with the chocolate sticks which I made on Friday and froze (Terrance discovered them on Saturday and convinced me we should eat one). I also got him some algae eater fish for our tank so he could have some fish in there too, I think he really liked them since he watched them for a very long time, it was so cute. Terrance got me some beautiful pink roses, sparkling cider and a baby sling (I asked for the sling just because I will want one eventually and it was on sale, not for current use). It has been a great day.

My 24ht Birthday

Yesterday was my birthday and it was filled with amazingness until the very last second!

I am 24 I remember thinking about turning 24 when I was a teen. My plan was married by 20, first kid by 21 (or at least prego) and second baby by 24. So far my life plans have not gone how I planned not so long ago. But I realized that my plan was really off track a few months before I was 22 which is when I made a new plan. That plan was graduate from BYU-Idaho with a bachelors in Recreational management in one more semester (which I did, finally something as planned), then move to pocatello go to cosmetology school and graduate from there by 24. Just a few months later all that changed.

I am not sure why a big chunk of my teachers insisted on me writing long papers about my 5 year plans when they all changes in just a few months. They should have called it "what I want to do within a five year period but probably won't because I am a single college student where everything will change in a very short time".

Anyways my life has turned out way better and more exciting then I could have ever imagined it would be when I turned 24. Since all my plans changed again when I met Terrance just after I turned 22. There is nothing more amazing that could have happened to me then Terrance and I am thrilled with all the life changes that I get to experience. I still try to have my 5 year plan in mind that I know can and will change at any moment. But a few of the amazing things that Terrance brought into my life is, more spontaneity, and more security. Having him in my life has made it easier to accept that things will change all the time but I know that no matter what he will be in my life and we will be able to over come anything together and make the absolute best out of what ever life throws at us. Which makes me so excited to see what the future will bring!

So back to my birthday:

I got......

A picture frame from Terrance

A necklace from LuJean, Mallory, and Conrad (some in-laws)

Sewing stuff from Terrance

Lots of flannel from Terrance

A cake from Jen

I made a cheese cake (no pic sorry) for my real birthday cake which was amazing I got this cake a few hours after.

This next group of pictures are me trying to be artistic with my gifts and take some cool pics.
A sewing machine from Terrance that I got today in the mail. Isn't he amazing!

Vampire mints and a cool flashlight from my parents.

I did not succeed at my artistic task but I tried.

So that was my birthday Pretty amazing wasn't it. I sure do think so Thanks everyone for making it so great!!!!
